About UnstuckGuide

UnstuckGuide is a plain-English tech help site. We write step-by-step guides for everyday problems: Wi-Fi that drops, phones that run out of space, printers that refuse to print, and inboxes that never empty.

What we do

Most tech help fails in one of two ways: it assumes you already know the jargon, or it buries a two-minute fix under a long explanation you did not ask for. Our guides open with the problem, explain it in plain words, and give the fix in numbered steps, in the order that works.

We cover Windows, Mac, phones, home internet and Wi-Fi, productivity, and security and privacy. We also recommend a small set of free tools on our Downloads page, linked only to their makers' official sites.

Who it is for

UnstuckGuide is for people who use technology every day but do not want to become technicians to fix it. You do not need to know what a driver, a DNS setting or a file system is before you start: every guide explains the terms it uses, the first time it uses them.

If you are comfortable with technology already, the same guides still work: the steps are short, the warnings come before the risky step, and the reasoning is there when you want it and skippable when you do not.

How we write

• Tested steps. We run the steps before we publish them, and re-check guides when a major system update changes the menus or settings involved.
• Plain language. Short sentences, everyday words, and an explanation whenever a technical term is unavoidable.
• No jargon as a gate. If a step needs a technical term, the guide says what it means in plain words.
• No invented claims. We do not publish statistics, results or endorsements we cannot stand behind, and we do not present guesses as facts.
• Original content. Every guide is written for this site. We do not copy other sites' text, and we do not republish other people's work as our own.
